GOPA Snowmobile Weekend Away in Eagle River, WI the Snowmobile Capital of the World. Eagle River is home to the World Championship Snowmobile Derby, World Snowmobile Headquarters and over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.
The GOPA Snowmobile Weekend Away begins in Eagle River on January 24. FBO closes at 5 PM so arrive before to get in a hangar for the night. The FBO advised they would prefer to move multiple planes into the hangar at the same time to avoid opening and closing the door. Tie downs are available on January 24 for those who arrive after hours. The FBO will move airplanes into the hangar the following morning. Ground transportation will be arranged to the hotel. Check in to the Hiawatha Resort begins at 3 PM. We will meet for dinner at Kickback Grill (next door to Hiawatha Resort).
Hiawatha provides continental breakfast from 7-10 AM. On the morning of January 25, ground transportation will be arranged to Trackside to retrieve rental snowmobiles. A group or individual ride will be available. Group ride will depend on what the group wants. Two leaders will be available and able to split off. Plan on meeting for lunch at a restaurant on the trail. Snowmobiles must be returned by 8 AM on January 26. Ground transportation will be available to return evening of Jan 25 or morning of Jan 26. We will meet for dinner at Sweetwater (next door to Hiawatha Resort).
Check out of the Hiawatha by 11 AM on January 26. Ground transportation will be arranged to assist with snowmobile returns and to the airport.
All prices listed below do not include any group discounts. I was told group rates will vary based on attendance.
